Focus Advisors represents Colorado Auto Body in the sale of their five-shop Denver MSO to Classic Collision

DENVER, December 13, 2023 – Focus Advisors, the leading M&A firm specializing in collision repair, is proud to announce the sale of Colorado Auto Body to Classic Collision. The transaction closed on Friday, December 8th.

Owner Bill Lipsitz founded the business 39 years ago, growing it to five shops in Aurora, Denver, Castle Rock, and Littleton. Bill reflected, “the transaction process is a little crazy and creates more stress on top of managing your shops’ performance and growing the business. Focus Advisors made it a more seamless process that made me more confident in closing. I’d advise other collision repair owners to start the process of seeing what your exit value is, even if you’re not selling. Get with Focus to start learning what needs to be done to make your shop more sellable when it’s time. And if you look at saving a few bucks by representing yourself, you end up losing a lot of value.”

“This was a rewarding transaction to work on, and we are excited to see what Bill Lipsitz does next after a successful exit with Classic Collision”, said Chris Lane, Partner at Focus Advisors. He continued, “it’s rare to see a business owner be able to successfully evaluate and execute a growth strategy for his shops while also exploring his exit options. Bill’s ability to do so speaks to many decades of managerial expertise.”

By acquiring these five shops, Classic Collision grew its Denver footprint to 15 locations, all of which have been acquired since Classic first entered Denver in January 2022. With this transaction, Classic Collision – now with a footprint across 16 states – is now Denver’s second-largest collision repair provider, second only to Caliber.
